Valve Coporation’s Steam application has been a long and successful running platform for the PC community. While the company offers extensive support in the desktop application, there is little love for the mobile app. There is a need for an extensive look in the user experience and how to engage users to create a cohesive experience from using the desktop to the mobile app.

THE CHALLENGE
There is a lack of updates for the Steam app. Not only the user interface is dated, the experience is disjointed from the desktop to mobile. Menus are disorganized, layers and layers of hidden menus, it creates less discoverability.
There are hidden menus under hidden menus
No distinction from friend list and chat
Dated chat design
Unengaging community section
Direct desktop design port
Poor profile display
Too many options in game library page
Poor navigation
UI/UX DESIGN
Community is what drives a platform to its success. Steam already has more than 125 million active users, and driving this community through mobile app is crucial to connect with more users. Introducing a community activity feed will engage users to use the app more, think facebook but for games.
